Til Minne: Trelldom

'Til Minne' is a timeless black metal masterpiece of the darkest rage recalled from the past to be expressed in the present. Inspiration drawn from the many voices of 'one' spew forth the
m emories of the collective through the wrathful vocals of Gaahl. With graceful skill and ease, he shapeshifts back and forth into the various immortals of an ancient circle who seem to both sing
and speak through him throughout the release. Some of the tracks were written as far back as '92
and have a similar structure to classical music, giving it more of an epic..almost symphonic
undercurrent with exhilarating changes in pace throughout.
An ode to the All father, 'Til Minne' pummels it's way into this dimension with all components of instrumention funneled into classic Norwegian old school ooze. The vox then takes on a more
tortured tone in the next memory 'Bortkomne Svar' while walking among the ashes once again.
'Fra Mitt Gamle' is victory of both blood and it's ancestral powers reborn in his words:
'By My Will' which commences in a chilling buzzsaw attack breaking the chains of a wild
mischievious entity who runs off into the 'Vinternatt' wreaking havoc on those not traveling within
their element. 'From This Past' and into the present his battlecry resounds throughout the nine
worlds and echoes through the forests. 'Steg' is an electrified frenzied prophecy of the fall of all
not deeply rooted in their land..ending in an eerily psychedelic outro which transforms and fades
into the hauntingly beautiful music of an olde Norwegian fiddle (hardingfele).
'Eg Reiste i Minnet', he then follows the familiar ancient music of the hardingfele traveling back
in time once again....speaking the outro in remembrance of where he came from..
knowing it is where he always has..and always will return to.
